About LAMP DESIGNS

From the exotic metropolis of Rio de Janeiro, Brazil to the traditional neighborhood vibes of River Ranch, a former Acadiana resident and his wife, a Brazilian architect, return home to create a fabulous lighting studio at River Ranch.

LAMP DESIGNS was founded in April of 2010 by local Mike Blanchard and Cecilia. Already dubbed, “The missing supply link for Lafayette’s interior designers”, LAMP DESIGNS showcases designer quality lighting of unparalleled variety for home and office. The lamps are of the highest quality and carefully selected with styles varying from traditional to contemporary. The showroom also carries accessories, artwork and furniture items that lends well towards a fresh new look.

Cecilia Blanchard was born in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil and earned her Masters Degree in design at the Central School of Art and Design in London, England. With over thirty years of experience ranging from designing homes, hotels, offices and hospitals in Brazil, and homes in London, Norway, Florida, and New York, Cecilia’s expertise will serve to assist clients with their decorating needs. Cecilia has owned and operated furniture and lamp shops in Rio de Janeirio, Brazil, speaks Portuguese, French, English and some Spanish.

Mike Blanchard was born in Breaux Bridge, Louisiana and is a graduate of the University of Southwestern Louisiana (now UL). Mike is a Vietnam Veteran and former oil industry executive who has spent over twenty years working in more than thirteen international locations worldwide. Mike’s management background and extensive travel experience coupled with Cecilia’s experience make them an excellent team to address their customer’s needs. Mike also speaks French, some Portugues and Spanish.
